2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2/3 cup soft margarine
1 cup fine sugar
2 medium-sized eggs
1 1/4 cups thick unsweetened apple puree or sauce
3 tablespoons raisins
2 red-skinned apples, cored and thinly sliced

method
1. Heat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Sift the flour, baking powder and cinnamon into a bowl. Add the margarine, sugar, eggs and apple sauce and beat until smooth. Fold in the raisins.
3. Divide the batter between 36 paper cases and place them on baking sheets.
4. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
5. Dip the apple slices in lemon juice to prevent discoloration and use to decorate the cakes.
