makes 16.
1 1/2 cups buckwheat flour
1/2 cup sifted white flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon shortening
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon molasses
method
1. Sift dry ingredients together. Combine melted shortening, milk and molasses, then add slowly to dry ingredients.
2. Beat well and bake on a slightly greased, hot griddle.
