Serve with barbecued or grilled chicken, sausages, burgers or chops.

1/4 cup butter
1 large onion, peeled and chopped
1 tsp tomato puree
2 tbsp wine vinegar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp mustard powder
salt and pepper
method
1. Melt the butter in a pan, add the onion and saute gently for 10 minutes until softened. Stir in the tomato puree and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.
2. Mix together the wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt and pepper in a bowl, stir in 1/4 pint water, then add to the pan. Bring to the boil and let bubble for 10 minutes.
