1/2 cup butter
6 ounce semi-sweet chocolate (squares)
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup self-raising flour
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
method
1. Heat the oven to 160°C (325°F). Grease a 8 inch square baking pan. Put the chocolate, water and butter in a medium-sized saucepan over low heat. Melt the chocolate, stirring all the time. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and the vanilla. Set aside and allow the chocolate to cool to room temperature.
2. Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Gradually stir in the cooled chocolate mixture. Add the eggs and beat well. Fold in the walnuts. Pour into the baking pan.
3. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Leave to cool and cut into squares.
