This delightfully refreshing drink, invented by the barman at the Buck's Club in London in 1921, has achieved star status. In France it is known as "Champagne-orange"
and in Italy and the United States as "Mimosa ".
ingredients
makes 1 glass
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1 tsp grenadine syrup
1/2 cup Champagne or other sparkling white wine, chilled
method
1. Put the orange juice into a chilled long-stemmed glass.
2. Add the grenadine syrup and stir with a long-handled spoon to blend. Then add the Champagne or white wine and stir again.
3. Serve the cocktail at once, decorated with a slice of fresh orange.
