3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 1/2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1/4 cup softened butter
1/3 cup soft brown sugar
1 small egg, lightly beaten
3/4 cup unsalted shelled peanuts
method
1. Position the shelf just above the centre and heat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease one large or two small baking sheets.
2. Sift the flour and cocoa. Cream the butter. Add the sugar and cream again.
3. Add the egg and stir in the flour and cocoa, then the nuts.
4. Drop in small spoonfuls on to the prepared baking sheets 2 inch apart.
5. Bake for about 15 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
