Cooking time: 35 minutes plus cooling time
ingredients
makes 8 - 10
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup fine sugar
1 small egg, beaten
1 cup self-raising flour
1/2 cup ground filberts
method
1. Heat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the egg. Sift in the flour and add the filberts.
4. Mix all together well. Press the mixture into a greased 7 inch square cake pan.
5. Bake for 25 minutes.
6. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then cut into bars and cool on a wire rack.
