enough for a two-crust pie 7 - 8 inch
2 cups plain or wholewheat flour
1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup margarine, diced
3/4 cup finely grated cheese
1 medium sized egg yolk
2 teaspoons water
method
1. Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl, add the grated cheese and stir in.
2. Add the fat and rub in. Blend the water and egg yolk together in a cup, then scrape them into the rubbed-in mixture.
3. Use a metal spoon or spatula to blend the liquid into the dough. When it forms a ball, knead it briefly with your hands to form a smooth dough.
4. Wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before rolling.
