Preparation time: 20 minutes plus 30 minutes chilling

1 medium-sized cantaloup melon
1/2 pound strawberries, hulled
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup sweet sherry
method
1. Cut the top 1/2 inch off the melon and scoop out the seeds.
2. Remove the melon flesh and chop it, or cut it into balls.
3. Keep the melon shell intact. Cut a thin slice from the bottom of the melon shell to make it flat.
4. Combine the melon flesh, strawberries, sugar and sherry. Spoon the mixture into the melon shell. (If there is too much fruit, serve the extra in a separate bowl.)
5. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
