ingredients
makes 1 loaf or 12 muffins.
2 cups sifted flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup sugar
method
1. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Combine egg and milk.
2. Cream shortening and sugar together and add flour alternately with liquid mixture.
3. Place in greased loaf pan or muffin pans and bake in moderate oven (375°F.) 30 minutes.
