Steamed Meat and Pasta Pudding

Steamed meat and pasta pudding is served hot and makes a filling children's dish for cold winter days.

ingredients

serves 4
6 ounce macaroni
1 tablespoon oil
1 1/2 pound minced (ground) pork
14 ounce canned tomatoes, drained
1/4 pound frozen green beans, thawed
salt
1 garlic clove, crushed
freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 egg, beaten

method

1. Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water with the oil for 10 - 12 minutes or until just tender.

2. Drain, then mix with the remaining ingredients.

3. Spoon into a greased 1 qt pudding bowl. Cover with greased foil, making a pleat across the centre to allow for expansion.

4. Steam for 2 hours, replenishing the water when necessary.

Serve hot.
