2 tbsp oil
1 large onion, peeled and chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp ground cilantro
14 ounce can chopped tomatoes
salt
1 1/4 pound cooked turkey
1 tsp garam masala
1/4 pint thick yogurt
method
1. Heat the oil in a heavy-based pan, add the onion and garlic and fry gently until softened and golden. Add the turmeric, chilli powder, cumin and cilantro, and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
2. Add the tomatoes and salt. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
3. Remove any skin from the turkey, then cut into chunks. Add to the pan with the garam masala and
4 tbsp yogurt. Cover and cook gently for 10 minutes, then stir in the remaining yogurt. Serve with rice.
